The M16 M203 Assault Rifle is the Demolitionist's tier 3 weapon. As a part of multi-perk weapon system M16 M203 Assault Rifle also belong to the arsenal of Commando.

This weapon does three types of the damage - ballistic bullet damage, direct hit that only affects initial target and AOE explosion of the grenade.
Damage Type Group: AssaultRifle, Ballistic_Shell, Explosive.

Explosion Radius (grenade) = 5m.
Explosion Falloff (grenade) = Linear.

Rate Of Fire = 669 RPM.
Rate Of Fire (grenade launcher) = 36 RPM.
Rate Of Fire (grenade launcher, elite reloading) = 44 RPM.
Rate Of Fire (buttstock bash) = 58.

Reload Time (magazine, tactical reload): Normal = 2.46s, Elite = 1.83s.
Reload Time (magazine, dry reload): Normal = 2.47s, Elite = 1.70s.
Reload Time (grenades): Normal = 1.40s, Elite = 1.09s.
Force Reload Time (for grenades, reload delayed for) = 0.25s.

Notes

  • It should be noted that Demolitionist does NOT get any bonuses towards M16's ballistic damage, however Commando's skills affect both - ballistic and explosive parts of the weapon.
  • Amount of recoil depend on player stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.
  • Minimum travel distance for projectile to explode = 3.87m.
  • Projectile travel speed = 50m/s
  • Direct hit does two types of the damage.
  • Projectile collide with either - ZED's hitzone or collision cylinder.
  • Projectile affected by gravity.

Strategy

While this weapon has smaller explosion radius than M79 (500 vs 850), its falloff is actually better which makes both weapon to have about the same Clot-kill-radius (an area where explosion does 100+ damage).

Despite the fact that this weapon belongs to Demolitionist its bullet damage stays unaffected by any of its skills and passive bonuses.

Gains all the perk bonuses from Commando thanks to multi-perk weapon system.

Trivia

  • Bullets can deal up to 9900 damage with full ammo (300) capacity as off-perk weapon.
  • Despite the common misconception M203 grenade does ballistic damage at any range, regardless if it exploded or dud.
