The HRG Blast Brawlers is one the Support's tier 4 weapons. It is an alternative version of the Berserker's Static Strikers that shoots blasts out of each fist like if they were shotguns for its primary attack. Some of the melee capacities are kept from the original weapon, like the block and the heavy attacks.

Description & Flavor Text

- "Primary: Shoot 2 blasts, one with each fist. Secondary: Heavy melee attack."

- "Research team was out of ideas for any punchline."

Technical Information

Shotgun:

  • Damage = 39.
  • Pellets = 5.
  • Fires salvo of 2 shots within 0.64817s intervals. Each strike that spawns pellets also applies blunt damage in close range.
  • Pellet speed = 70 m/s.
  • Spread factor = 0.12.

Melee Damage:

  • Heavy = up to 200.
  • Bash = up to100.
  • Animation of shotgun firing also does damage in close range = 50 x 2.

Maximum Hit Range = 1.5m.

Rate Of Fire:

  • Shotgun =92 RPM.
  • Melee, backward and bash = 52.
  • Melee, forward and right-to-left = 46.
  • Melee, left-to-right = 48.

Damage Type = Ballistic_Shotgun, Bludgeon.

Reloading:

  • Normal = 1.78s.
  • Elite = 1.11s.

Equip Time = 0.47s, Putdown Time = 0.63s.

Parry:

  • Strength = 5.
  • Duration = 0.26s.
  • Damage Reduction = 60%.
  • Block Damage Reduction = 50%.

Weapon Powers:

  • Gun hit power (shotgun) = 12.
  • Knockdown power (heavy) = 75.
  • Melee hit power (heavy / bash) = 150 / 100.
  • Melee hit power (same melee that spawns pellets) = 100.
  • Penetration power = 2.
  • Stumble power (heavy / bash) = 150 / 200.
  • Stumble power (shotgun) = 48.

Upgrades

  • Upgrade 1 (1500): Base damage x1.25 (48 per pellet, 250 heavy, 125 bash), Base weight + 1 (10 total).

Notes

  • Primary does ballistic and blunt damage (twice per salvo) at the same time. Blockable damage types: Bludgeon / Slashing.
  • Once fire button clicked, the first set of pellets within melee animation spawns approximately after 0.18s, second - after 0.40s.
  • Berserker players can trigger Parry with HRG Blast Brawlers, however there will be no damage nor attack speed bonuses for that. Their Smash and Massacre skills do not work with any of Blast Brawlers's attacks (they used to, but it was fixed in update 1.117).
  • Amount of the damage per horizontal strike depends on player-to-ZED angle. Horizontal strikes do no more than 75% and not less than 50% of the base damage value.
  • Blockable damage types: Bludgeon / Slashing.

Strategy

HRG Blast Brawlers considered to be a melee weapon, this allows Survivalist to enjoy increased movement speed as well as extra damage provided via both passive bonus and Melee Expert skill to all of its attacks. Melee Expert also increases its melee attack speed (hence shotgun rate of fire).
