Notes
- This weapon has 3 types of reload - half, when it has more than 13 bullets in the belt, half-empty, when it has 1-13 bullets left in the belt and dry, when it has no bullets left at all.
- Amount of the recoil depends on the player's stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.
Strategy
Despite the formal classification as a Light Machine Gun, the Stoner 63A LMG is technically treated as an Assault Rifle hence the Cysts, Crawlers, Gorefasts and Stalkers all having significant vulnerability to its bullets.
Since this weapon has quite a lot of recoil, make sure you compensate it by aiming down the sights and crouching.
On Hell on Earth difficulty, it is strongly recommended to equip the Hollow Point Rounds skill when using the Stoner. The damage will breach a lot of breakpoints, allowing 1-bodyshot Crawlers and less headshots to decap on other enemies. A Gorefast is decapped on 1 headshot instead of 2 while the Gorefiend is decapped on 3 instead of 4 and so on.
While its DPS (damage per second) is not as good as SCAR-H or burst-firing AK-12 have, Stoner in return offers sustained rate of fire with crowd-control capabilities, especially when paired with the Eat Lead skill.
Trivia
- Can deal up to 17250 damage with full ammo (575) capacity as off-perk weapon.
