*So far, the Stoner 63A LMG is the only weapon in the game that doesn't follow the "weight-to-bash" damage pattern. As a 9 blocks weapon, it should have a bash damage value of 29. However, it only does 26 points of damage.

*Of the Commando's available rifles, the Scar-H, AK-12, HMtech Assault Rifle, and AR-15 (in single-fire mode) all offer higher DPS (Damage Per Second) than the Stoner 63A LMG. The Stoner 63A LMG beats the AR-15 in DPS if the AR-15 is in burst fire. The Stoner 63A LMG also offers higher DPS than the M16-M203.

The Stoner 63A LMG is one the Commando's tier 4 weapons. It is the only Light Machine Gun available for Commando, the other weapons are rather assault or battle rifles. It is heavy, does medium damage, has big magazine size, high rate of fire and a lot of recoil. Due to high amount of Gun Hit power this weapon is suitable for maintaining constant suppressing fire. Despite being LMG by the nature the Stoner inflicts same type of the damage as assault rifles.

"Fire mode is full auto only."

Flavor Text

"A staple of U.S. Navy SEALs in the Vietnam War, the Stoner 63A has high ammo capacity and tons of stopping power."

Reload Time:
Tactial Reload: Normal = 4.58s, Elite = 3.23s.

Weapon Powers:
Stumble Power = 10.
Gun hit power = 50.

Upgrades

Upg1 (1500): Base damage x1.27, Base weight + 1.

Notes

  • This weapon has 3 types of reload - half, when it has more than 13 bullets in the belt, half-empty, when it has 1-13 bullets left in the belt and dry, when it has no bullets left at all.
  • Amount of the recoil depends on the player's stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.

Strategy

Despite the formal classification as a Light Machine Gun, the Stoner 63A LMG is technically treated as an Assault Rifle hence the Cysts, Crawlers, Gorefasts and Stalkers all having significant vulnerability to its bullets.

Since this weapon has quite a lot of recoil, make sure you compensate it by aiming down the sights and crouching.

On Hell on Earth difficulty, it is strongly recommended to equip the Hollow Point Rounds skill when using the Stoner. The damage will breach a lot of breakpoints, allowing 1-bodyshot Crawlers and less headshots to decap on other enemies. A Gorefast is decapped on 1 headshot instead of 2 while the Gorefiend is decapped on 3 instead of 4 and so on.

While its DPS (damage per second) is not as good as SCAR-H or burst-firing AK-12 have, Stoner in return offers sustained rate of fire with crowd-control capabilities, especially when paired with the Eat Lead skill.

Trivia

  • Can deal up to 17250 damage with full ammo (575) capacity as off-perk weapon.
