Strategy

Despite the formal classification as a Light Machine Gun, the Stoner 63A LMG is technically treated as an Assault Rifle hence the Cysts, Crawlers, Gorefasts and Stalkers all having significant vulnerability to its bullets.

Since this weapon has quite a lot of recoil, make sure you compensate it by aiming down the sights and crouching.

On Hell on Earth difficulty, it is strongly recommended to equip the Hollow Point Rounds skill when using the Stoner. The damage will breach a lot of thresholds, allowing 1-bodyshot Crawlers and less headshots to decap on other enemies. A Gorefast is decapped on 1 headshot instead of 2 while the Gorefiend is decapped on 3 instead of 4, etc.
