The Riot Shield & Glock 18 is the SWAT's tier 4 DLC weapon. Upon equipping player takes Glock 18 machine pistol in their right hand and Riot Shield in their left hand. Both operate as a set and cannot be used separately.

When aiming down the sights player brings the Shield towards their currently faced direction assuming defensive posture, aiming down the Glock 18's sights via Shield's viewing port. Operating the weapon is such manner allows player to mitigate half of the incoming frontal damage. Weapon's unique bash attack - smashing with a Shield - causes damage to multiple ZEDs at once should they be in a sufficient proximity from the player's initial target.

In offline solo play this weapon is only available for players purchased it from the in-game store, however should the player owning this weapon join the public server it is become available to everyone as a shared content.

Technical Information

Damage = 28.
Rate Of Fire = 1100 RPM.
Damage (bash) = 25.
Impulse (damage) = 25.
Impulse (radius) = 200.
Impulse (damage falloff) = 0 (none).
Impulse (angle to apply, from player's perspective) = 100.

When Shield connects with the target it creates an Impulse area of effect ("explosion") around this target. The area covers 100 degrees angle in front of the player. The initial target takes both - Bash damage and Impulse damage, all nearby targets only take Impulse damage.

Block (damage multiplier) = x0.5.
Block (effective angle in front on the player to block) = 170 deg.
Note that it requires player to aim down the sights in order to block frontal damage.
Maximum hit range = 1.75m + 2m of explosion radius if Shield connects with the ZED.
Bash rate of fire, per minute = 74.
Bash attack and Impulse featuring slight pushback momentum.

Damage Type = Ballistic.
Damage type (bash and impulse) = Bludgeon.
Damage Type Group = Handgun.

Bullet (speed) = 180 m/s.
Spread factor (full-auto) = 0.06.
Spread factor (single-fire) = 0.015.
Much like many other firearms this weapon is a hitscan outside of the ZED Time.

Reload Time:
Tactical Reload: Normal = 1.96s, Elite = 1.58s.
Dry Reload: Normal = 2.10s, Elite = 1.65s.

Equip Time = 0.50s.
Putdown Time = 0.43s.

Weapon Powers:
Gun hit power (bullet) = 12.
Melee hit power (bash) = 100.
Melee hit power (impulse) = 100.
Stumble power (bullet) = 12.
Stumble power (impulse) = 350.

Upgrades

Upg1 (1500): Base damage x1.2, Base weight + 1.
Upgrade does not affect Bash / Impulse damage. Neither it affects Shield's block damage multiplier.

Notes

In PC version of the game, for testing purposes players may acquire this weapon by typing following cheat commands in console while in solo play:

    • EnableCheats

  • Blockable damage types: Bludgeon, Slashing, Fire_HuskFireball, Fire_HuskFlamethrower, EvilDAR_Rocket, EvilDAR_Laser, DAR_EMPBlast, Ballistic_HansAK12, Ballistic_PatMinigun, Explosive_PatMissile, FleshpoundKing_ChestBeam, EMP_MatriarchTeslaBlast, EMP_MatriarchPlasmaCannon.
  • SWAT's passive bonus increases damage of Shield's bash / impulse attack. Berserker gets no bonuses at all.
  • Has 4 times more bullet spread in full-auto mode.
  • Amount of recoil depend on player stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.

Trivia

  • In full-auto has the worst bullet spread out of all non-shotgun firearms.
  • Can deal up to 13860 damage with full ammo (495) capacity as off-perk weapon.
  • Inflicts "handgun" type of the damage hence has higher effectiveness when dealing with Fleshpounds but is not as good against Scrakes as other SWAT SMGs.
