The Rail Gun is one of Sharpshooter's tier 4 weapons. It is a single-shot high power sniper rifle capable of either automatically locking onto target's vulnerable hit zones such as head at cost of halved damage (default firing mode on pickup or a purchase) or of free firing like M99 AMR, with no guidance but doing full damage.

Description

"Fire mode is single shot only. Using the sight lets you lock on to vulnerable spots on your target."

Upgrades

Upg1 (1500): Base damage x1.25, Base weight + 1.

Notes

  • In ZED Time in lock-on mode this weapon has no projectile (hits instantly).
  • Amount of recoil depend on player stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.

Strategy

The alt-fire button toggles the Rail Gun between guided and unguided aiming modes. Guided mode makes you automatically lock onto the ZEDs' weak points, but unguided mode does twice the damage.

After upgrading takes 10 units of weight in inventory barely leaving room for SPX. Alternative backup weapons would be upgraded Winchester 1894, .500 Magnum Revolver or 9mm(s).
