The Hemogoblin is one of the three Field Medic's tier 3 weapons, the other being HMTech-301 Shotgun and HRG Healthrower. It is a medium damage, slow firing hitscan ballistic rifle that debuffs enemies by applying damage over time and unique bleeding incapacitation.

Description

"Fire mode shoots a blood bore that injures, slows and weakens Zeds. Alt-fire shoots healing darts to heal team members."

Flavor Text

"Not a viable weight loss plan."

Technical Information

Damage = 100.
Damage type (impact) = Ballistic, Damage Type Group = Rifle.
Damage (buttstock bash) = 27.
Ballistic impact of this weapon cannot decapitate a ZED (head HP goes below 0). Extra damage on decapitation (see step 7) and head damage multiplier still take place.

Damage Over Time:
DOT Scale = x0.1 (of base damage).
DOT Duration = 5s.
DOT Interval = 1s.
DOT Damage Type = Bleeding.

Rate Of Fire = 240 RPM.
Rate Of Fire (bash) = 50.

Reload Time (tactical): Normal = 2.28s.
Reload Time (dry): Normal = 2.28s.

Equip Time = 0.64s.
Putdown Time = 0.49s.

Weapon Powers:
Bleed power, per DOT tick = 150.
Poison power (by Acidic Rounds DOT, per tick) = 200.
Poison power (by healing dart impact, per hit) = 33.
Stumble power = 200.

Healing:
Ammo cost (per dart) = 30%.
Heal amount = 20.
Time (full recharge) = 10s.

Upgrades

Upg1 (700): Base damage x1.2, Base weight + 1, Full recharge time x0.9.
Upg2 (1500): Base damage x1.4, Base weight + 2, Full recharge time x0.8.

Notes

  • Bleeding ZEDs: move 30% slower, attack 25% slower, do 30% less damage to players and take 50% more incap power / hit.
  • Bearing unique damage type on its DOT - Bleeding - which none of the ZEDs is resistant to. It's "bullet" (tube) impact does Rifle type of the damage.
  • The only weapon in the game that allows multiple instances of the same DOT.
  • Despite it visually firing a projectile this weapon is actually a hitscan outside of ZED Time.
  • More than one type of the same DOT allowed, each bullet have separate DOT effect (yet the same damage, duration and interval).
  • With Acidic Rounds skill this weapon applies 200 points of the poison power with every DOT tick caused by its bullets but it is also capable of applying 33 points of such power with every impact of healing projectiles independently from Acidic Rounds.
  • Amount of recoil depend on player stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.

Trivia

  • Hemogoblin looks rather bulky, just by looking at its feeding mechanism (break-action, loading with 7 tubes delivered via quick-loader) it is barely even possible to assume that this could be a hitscan rifle. Its (fake) tracers also make players think that it fires projectiles.
  • Somehow Field Medic's Combatant Doctor skill does affect its magazine size despite its clearly visible 7 slots chamber, making it 11.
  • The only weapon (along the HRG Healthrower) in Field Medic's arsenal that heals 20HP / dart opposite to 15HP of the other non-syringe healers.
  • Despite the common misconception, bleeding ZEDs do not take any extra damage.
