The FN FAL ACOG is one the Sharpshooter's tier 4 weapons. It is a fully- / semi-automatic assault rifle equipped with a fixed picture-in-picture 3D ACOG scope. Unlike other assault rifles, FN FAL ACOG applies Rifle type of ballitic damage, hence has different effectiveness against ZEDs, especially being more effective against Fleshpounds.

Weapon's main downside is a limited ammo pool: frivolous usage in fully-automatic mode or using this gun to dispose lesser ZEDs may result in running out ammo in the middle of the wave; as such FN FAL ACOG rather has to be considered as a "Big ZED" killer and usage of semi-automatic mode is adviced unless in an imminent threat.

As a part of the multi-perk weapon system, FN FAL ACOG also belongs to the arsenal of Commando.

Notes

  • Applies Rifle type of ballistic damage, unlike other fully-automatic assault rifles that, instead, do Assault Rifle type of the damage.
  • Amount of the recoil depends on the player's stance and movement. Crouching and aiming down the sights gives the lowest possible amount of the recoil.

Strategy

Gains all the perk bonuses from Commando thanks to multi-perk weapon system.

Hight amount of the recoil. Recomended to use in single-fire mode while staying stationary and crouching. In close range provides high Damage-Per-Second due to its rate of fire and per-bullet damage.

Has reduced rate of fire in semi-auto mode, this helps to conserve ammo. The ammo pool itself rather low so you might want to treat this weapon as a Designated Marksman Rifle such as M14 rather than Assault Rifle.

Compare to other assault rifles, FN FAL is more effective against Fleshpounds due to its Rifle type of ballistic damage.

Trivia

  • Can deal up to 12600 damage with full ammo (180) capacity as off-perk weapon.
