The C4 Explosives is one of the Demolitionist's tier 2 weapons. It is a throwable brick of Composition C-4 plastic explosive with microcontroller attached to it for a remote detonation. Player throws one brick at the time with primary attack and detonates it with secondary attack. Bricks stick to any surface or a ZED, multiple bricks can be placed before setting them off in an order they were deployed.

The C4 Explosives is the Demolitionist's tier 2 secondary weapon.
Only 3 units maximum available for non-Demolitionist player and up to 8 total for a high-level Demolitionist. Regardless of perk, however, players can plant up to 24 bricks (global limit shared between all players) on the ground by either buying new units from the TRADER, picking ammo boxes or resupplying from Support. Each brick is resistant to any damage, friendly or hostile, and can only be set off by player that have thrown it or automatically by exceeding global limit of deployed C4s. However, without corresponding skill, all C4 bricks are vulnerable to Siren's Scream  attack and will disintegrate without explosion should they be in vicinity.

Technical Information

Explosion:

 • Damage = 820.
 • Damage Radius = 4 meters.
 • Explosion Falloff = Exponential (power or 2).
 • Multiple C4 explosions in a rapid session will cause damage reduction on a ZED: each next explosion will be doing 25% less damage than previous. Effect resets after 3 seconds of not taking C4 damage.
 • Bash Damage = 23.

Rate Of Fire:

 • Toss rate = 41.
 • Buttstock bash = 63.

Equip Time = 0.26s, Putdown Time = 0.29s.

Weapon Powers:

 • Knockdown power = up to 150.
 • Stumble power = up to 400.

Notes

 • Has no upgrades available.
 • Maximum active C4 charges between all players at server is 24. Exceeding this limit will result in explosion of the "oldest" charge.
 • If ZED takes another C4 explosive damage within 3s interval, that explosion will do only 75% damage of the previous C4 explosive damage: 1st explosion is 100%, 2nd is 75%, 3rd is 56.25% etc...
 • Within the explosion radius the C4 owner can hear a "beep" sound (interval - 1s). If player is within lethal (for their current health) radius the "beep" sound repeats within 0.5s intervals (this rule, however, does not imply player's resistance to damage and difficulty settings - as even on Hell On Earth difficulty players only take half of the explosive damage - so it is still possible to survive a blast even within lethal "beep" radius).
 • Explosion may cause obliteration.

Trivia

 • С4's microcontroller board named Horzuino which is a humorous reference to the real life open-source hardware and software company Arduino.
 • Applies visual burn effects on its targets. However burning ZEDs do not take any real fire damage. Frankly the fact that it causes DOT (damageless) makes it impossible for C4 to trigger a ZED Time event when it used to kill just a lone target, however it is still possible to get ZED Time if multiple ZEDs are killed at once.
