Biolapse is a community-made official Killing Floor 2 map. It was added in the game as a part of Neon Nightmares update. It is the fourth map for "Holdout" sub-mode that puts players into the close quarters environment and forces them to stand the ground without escape routes.

Promo Page Description

"Perhaps we should not have come here", was the thought on the top of the mercs minds as they entered deeper and deeper into the facility. New clues were the lure that brought them here, the supposed site of one of Dr. Clamely's favorite offices to work out of when he was more... human-like. But perhaps that, like so many other leads, was just another trap.

General Information

The map contains total of 11 floors where the first and the last ones are always fixed while all the other are chosen randomly, once per game. Once the wave completed the lift in elevator shaft moves down letting players to drop down to the next, randomly chosen, sub-level.

Each sub-level contains a couple of collectables, a trader pod and a certain amount of ammo boxes that are always active regardless of game difficulty (ammo boxes have respawn time of 45 seconds).

On two out of eleven levels there are environmental traps that players can activate by pressing a button located nearby. In the "prison" sub-level there two trap doors that stay opened for 10 seconds and have reactivation delay of 90 seconds, ZEDs and players walked over the opened shafts will fall down to an imminent death. In the "biomass" (big circle-shaped) room there's a Blood Blender trap that has reactivation delay of approximately 17 seconds, it knocks ZEDs down and pushes them into the pit located in the middle of the room killing them shortly after (trap does 25 points of damage within 0.5s intervals so it might take some time to kill tough ZEDs). Both of these traps were a part of seasonal challenges realeased in the Neon Nightmares update requiring players to kill at least 20 ZEDs in each one.
